10 Things That Make No Sense About League of Legends

10 Things That Make No Sense About League of Legends

Heroes of the Storm is not only a recent example of Blizzard failing to make a go of their MOBA - they also did so in what's considered the most disrespectful of ways to its community, its competitive player base, and everyone else invol

Some items have effects that benefit you as the player, such as the Friends and Family Discount item which drops the price of all units by one gold. Most items are equipped on specific heroes and grant powerful bonuses like the Black King Bar which makes the hero immune to magic. It’s important to equip the right items with the right heroes to get the most use out of them so choose which item you want and which hero you equip it on wis

_ Counter-Strike _ ’s Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut made a splash in 2019, lighting up scoreboards with a consistent form that rivals the game’s best historic talents. The 19-year-old star debuted with Vitality in late 2018, and immediately turned heads as the newest French star. Following in the footsteps of legendary AWPer Kenny "kennyS" Schrub, ZywOo took over every server he played on . In 2019 alone, ZywOo lifted trophies at cs_summit 4, the ECS Season 7 Finals, and EPICENTER 2019, earning the MVP accolade at each event. Vitality also reached the Grand Finals of ESL One Cologne and Udyr Rework DreamHack Masters Malmö, and, despite losses, the teenager was named MVP of both tournaments. ZywOo boasts staggering statistics, having maintained a 1.31 rating for big LAN events in 2019. His consistent performances this year place him among _ Counter-Strike _ ’s very best, and this is only the beginning of his car

Is there a chance for Blizzard to thrive in the esports scene in the near future? Many longtime fans of the company would sure hope so - however, after all the stunts they've pulled, it's hard to stay optimistic for the future of many beloved franchi

There are a total of 147 champions in **League of Legends ** , and Riot has just released the most complicated one yet. Aphelios, the Weapon of the Faithful is a Marksman created by two of the most well-known designers at Riot Games: Stashu and CertainlyT. These two designers are responsible for some of the more complicated champions in the game, such as Qiyana, Yasuo, and Thresh. However, all of these champions can carry the game in the right hands, and Aphelios is no differ

Now having said that the game is forgiving to losers doesn’t mean it’s a good strategy to lose. An argument could be made for gold farming in the beginning, but other than that it’s typically in your best interest to win every round you fight

With its campaign, the one thing that could really set it apart, inactive, Genesis has your typical MOBA modes. There's training, a humans vs. AI mode, and 5v5 competitive. There's only one map in the rotation right now, the usual three lane battlefield where you aim to destroy the enemy towers and reach their core. That's not to fault Genesis for having this familiar element. The setup is just typical to MOBAs. In fact, there are some smart things going on in Genesis that address common MOBA probl

Genesis opens by explaining that humans and aliens teamed up to go through a portal in space. There are unknown dangers on the other side, which warranted the formation of a group of specialized individuals. Right after, you're dropped onto a single-lane bridge and put in control of the beginner-friendly archer hero. Sound familiar? I immediately had flashbacks to the League of Legends tutorial. Genesis does try to set itself apart by focusing more on story. The tutorial introduces mysterious aliens that attack our alliance of heroes. What they are, and why they're hostile, is a matter for the campaign. Oh yeah, there's a full-on campaign mode. Too bad it doesn't work at the moment, an issue the devs are actively fixi

Aphelios has 5 unique weapons that each start with 50 Moonlight (Ammo). His basic attacks cost 1 Moonlight, and his abilities (Q and R) cost 10. Once his Moonlight hits 0 he will switch to the next weapon in the queue. Also, instead of upgrading his abilities when he levels up (like the other 146 champions in the game), the player can choose to upgrade either his Attack Damage, Attack Speed, or Armor Penetrat

Many consider Blizzard’s Star Craft: Brood War to be the foundation of all esports. By 2006, the game was established as a mainstream juggernaut icon in Korea and the global community. It was the first game to bring in big-name sponsors and had fans watching all over the world. At the height of its popularity, the video below gives a picture of the scope of popularity and production value that went into the ga

Still, I miss the accuracy of a mouse for skill shots. The characters don't quite have the charm of Ahri, Rumble, or any of my other LoL mains. I find their voice acting annoying, and their 3D models don't quite live up to their art. I don't see myself dropping cash for skins. In the end, I think I just want to scratch the MOBA itch I've been ignoring for years. Genesis definitely does that, and will do so for any curious PS4 owners. It also doesn't require PS Plus, which is a... plus. Give it a shot as your first MOBA, or first MOBA in years. If you have a PC, however, stick to the class
