DecemberDestiny 2 May Be Changing For the Better, But Bungie Sure Isn't
Uldren Sov serves as a passable antagonist but ultimately suffers from a lack of interaction with your Guardian. Outside of a handful of cutscenes from Destiny and a brief interaction at the start of Forsaken, Uldren hasn’t had much impact on your story. Much of the animus you’ll hold for him lies solely on whether you like Cayde-6. It doesn't help that a random final boss appears out of nowhere to rob Uldren of his spotlight.
Taken Captains serve as upgraded Fallen Captains who possess superior strength, health, speed, teleportation skills, etc. They can use a pair of large swords or a shotgun to do inflict harm and can shoot darkness bullets to shroud a Guardian's eyesight and penetrate cover-shields. Fallen Captains come in several stripes, including the formidable Taken Blight, which is among the strongest iterations of the alien race. Taken Captains also come equipped with Shock Blades and Shrapnel Launch
New expansion means new story, new story means new area and new area means new NPCs to give out fun stuff. Upon the initial Prison Break and Cayde’s death, Guardians will immediately make their way to The Tangled Shore in tracking down the escapees. The leader of this tangled web is a wonderful Fallen NPC named Spider. Spider helps in getting the ball rolling in tracking down the big-bads and seeking vengeance upon Uldren. He also is extremely helpful in getting one’s Light Level up the easy way. Sure, he sells the resources needed to now infuse gear into other gear, but honestly that will cost some serious glimmer. If not wanting to farm glimmer while wasting time, instead start chipping away at those bounties he has available. This is an easy first step in getting solid legendary gear that won’t break the bank or ones will. This will see Guardians returning to areas familiar such as the EDZ while heading into Lost Sectors to hunt those who’ve broken out of Prison. These are not the main Wardens in the main quest but regular high-level enemies that upon killing will complete a bounty for good gear. The Bounties stick around for a week making it a solid initial jumping off point.
The new Lightfall expansion seal, Virtual Fighter, deals with all things concerning Neomuna . Although Neomuna's patrol space has been deemed quite hard to survive in, the triumph page only has nine triumphs for players to complete, out of which completing a campaign mission on Master difficulty is the hardest
Forsaken’s plot is a refreshing break from the consistent ‘save the world’ plots of Destiny games, and expansions tend to throw at us. The tale is more personal and adds additional depth to the generic light vs. dark struggle that has permeated the series to this point. Forsaken represents a leap forward for storytelling in Destiny, surpassing the benchmark set by The Taken King .
One of the more artistically savvy of the Sniper Rifles in the game, Beloved is easily one of the best Snipers in terms of reliability and consistency. Aside from impressive impact and aim assistance, the rifle also boasts one of the fastest RPMs in the game, making for a quick-hitting Sniper Rifle perfect for skirmis
Destiny 2: Forsaken takes place sometime after the events of the base game. You and Cayde-6 fly to the Prison of Elders to help an old friend, Petra Venj, put down a prison riot, but the trio quickly learns that the riot was orchestrated to cover up the breakout of eight Scorn barons. Rescued by the long-missing Prince Uldren Sov, the nine successfully escape the prison, but not before killing Cayde-6. Fleeing into the Reef, you pursue them to exact your revenge.
Crucible remains mostly intact outside of quality-of-life improvements. Bringing the player count back up to 6v6 was the right move and the lower time-to-kill vastly improves the experience. The significant multiplayer addition in Forsaken lies with Gambit, a new mode that blends PvE and PvP elements. The 4v4 mode tasks players with killing AI-controlled enemies and collecting and banking motes of light. After accumulating 75 motes, a Primeval enemy appears and the first team to defeat their Primeval wins. Of course, it’s not that simple thanks to the PvP elements. Players can spend motes to summon Blockers on the enemy’s map. Collect enough motes and a player can invade the enemy’s map for a short period.
In the stream following the reveal of Forsaken, Bungie’s representatives took some time to do fans a "favor" and better explain what exactly will be included in the Annual Pass. Put simply, it will consist of new challenges, new gear, new lore, new challenges and new events. It all sounds good doesn’t it; as if they’ve finally found a way to keep new content coming outside the major expansions? Except that just about all of this is content that, even as recently as this past April, was all offered free of charge. To some this change might not seem like a big deal, their likely reasoning being that Bungie shouldn’t have to work for free. That’s true. They shouldn’t and they never have been. They’ve always been paid for exotic hand cannon it through the microtransactions offered through the Eververse cash shop. What’s more, acquiring funding for these "free" updates was and is the entire justification for having the Eververse in the first place .
