The Next Harry Potter Game: Why An Auror RPG Is Needed

Despite being an intelligent humanoid race, goblins have faced much adversity and persecution in the Harry Potter universe, particularly in the 17th and 18th centuries when goblin rebellions were prevalent. Many wizards still consider them a subservient race, and to this day they are forbidden from using wands by The Ministry of Magic. In Chapter 15 of The Order of the Phoenix, the Daily Prophet claimed there were still disruptive groups of goblins even during the 1990s, although no concrete evidence supported the newspaper's claim. It seems entirely likely for some goblins to still harbor resentment towards wizards. In 1877, the 393rd Quidditch World Cup became known as " The Tournament that Nobody Remembers, " as a venue was selected, tickets were sold, and players were injured, but no one can recall the events of that day. It's not known for sure what happened, but speculation has narrowed the blame to either a colossal outbreak of Cerebrumous Splattergroit (a fungus causing confusion and memory loss) or a mass Memory Charm perpetuated by the Goblin Liberation Fr

Editor’s Note: Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling has been accused of transphobia by those in the LGBTQ+ community. Although not directly involved in the development of Hogwarts Legacy, Rowling does stand to earn royalties from the game. We would like to reiterate our support for trans rights and that trans identities are valid. Support services are listed below for trans people impacted by discussions of transpho

In the Harry Potter universe, an Auror is a highly trained, elite wizard or witch who works for the Department of Magical Law Enforcement within the Ministry of Magic. Their role is to investigate, capture, and combat dark wizards and witches , including those dabbling in the Dark Arts, and especially followers of Voldem

The 1860s could technically be considered the "late 1800s," but the term seems more fitting for 1870 onward. While it's entirely possible Hogwarts Legacy happens prior to the Ministry returning control of Gringotts back to the goblins, it's more likely that Ropp's statement is referring to an event that happened in the 1870s. Because he specifics " this lot, " he could be talking about the Goblin Liberation Front — a group of radicals that advocated for goblin rights during this time. This wouldn't necessarily mean goblins weren't at Gringotts. Rather, only the ones the player encounters may be from this extremist group. When footage of Hogwarts Legacy was leaked in 2018, it showed the player attacking what looked like a goblin hoard, though this wasn't shown in the official trailer. If this is indeed the " lot " Ropp is referencing, it may mean players won't see the goblins inside of Gringo

Harry Potter fans have been begging for an Auror game ever since Hogwarts Legacy was released, and it isn't a huge mystery why we likely don't have one already. The primary issue is that an Auror game would require a more adult bent, and despite having many adult themes, the Harry Potter IP is still largely meant for younger audien

This is all under the assumption that the game __ will stay true to the established lore of the wizarding world. Another thing worth noting is in 1875, the Ministry of Magic passes the Decree for the Reasonable Restriction of Underage Sorcery, in which young magic users are forbidden from using magic outside of Hogwarts. It's hard to say for certain, but the trailer seems to portray students using magic outside of the school grounds. How interesting it would be if the player's actions in the game bring about this law. While nothing has been confirmed, it seems highly probable that **Hogwarts Legacy Updates|Https://Hogwartslegacyfans.Com/ Legacy ** will take place in the 1870s, but there is still much room for speculat

common_bugloss_flowers_3-1024x683.jpgWarner Bros.'s Hogwarts Legacy _ is set in the 19th century, but when exactly in the _Harry Potter universe will it take place? The announcement trailer for Hogwarts Legacy confirms the events will occur in the late 1800s, which is still vague. However, from what is known of the wizarding world during this time, and in accordance with statements from the developers, the dates can be narrowed down a little furt

Warner Brothers likely doesn't want to develop a mature Harry Potter game as it would automatically alienate a large portion of the Wizarding World's key demographic. I'd guess this is the largest barrier, but probably not the only one, which is why an Auror game isn't on the table at the mom

Since then, Bloomberg's Jason Schreier released a report about the development of Cyberpunk 2077 . It seems that management ignored the information provided to them about the developers regarding issues getting the game running on PS4/Xbox One. The report also claimed that the E3 2018 demo was fake , and that developers wasted months of time putting it toget

The "late 1800s" could encompass anything between 1850-1900, although it seems more likely to be 1870 onward. A big clue was dropped from Avalanche's Head of Story, Adrian Ropp, in a PlayStation Blog post, where he says in reference to the game's setting, " Goblins were around, but this lot certainly didn't work at Gringotts. " Canon history states that in 1865, the Ministry of Magic relinquished full control of Gringotts Wizarding Bank to the goblins, who were still in charge when Harry Potter made his first visit in The Sorcerer's Stone . While this heavily hints at the events of Hogwarts Legacy occurring prior to 1865, it could also indicate that the setting occurs in the 18
