Uldren Sov serves as a passable antagonist but ultimately suffers from a lack of interaction with your Guardian. Outside of a handful of cutscenes from Destiny and a brief interaction at the start of Forsaken, Uldren hasn’t had much impact on your story. Much of the animus you’ll hold for him lies solely on whether you like Cayde-6. It doesn't help that a random final boss appears out of nowhere to rob Uldren of his spotlight.

The draw of Quicksilver Storm is that it is a primary weapon that can periodically output the damage of a special weapon after achieving certain objectives. This puts it in spaces like Tarrabah, where it performs like a typical firearm most of the time, but allows for brief periods where it punches way above the belt of its weapon type. Quicksilver Storm does this via grenades that are charged and stored whenever its micro-missiles land on target. Gaining enough charges allows players to manually load and fire an explosive payload after holding the reload button and switching to an alternative fire mode. The Magnificent Armor is where the real work begins. Each player is gifted a Renewed set of armor that has low stats and looks old and dilapidated. Every piece of the set has a subset of tasks associated with it. These might include goals such as Complete Five Strikes, or Get 50 Precision Kills, or other things to that effect. Once players complete all requirements on all five pieces of gear, the armor can be upgraded to the Majestic versions with higher stats and better aesthetics. For most players, reacting is something that has become second nature. It is this quickness without the need for deliberation that helps them surpass their previous high marks and allows them to overcome any and all difficulties taking place in-game. While it’s not cool that it’s taken $140 to get here (and more if you splurge on microtransactions), Destiny 2: Forsaken presents Destiny 2 with its much-needed reset. The campaign is compelling enough thanks to its excellent boss design, though Uldren lacks the history to be a strong antagonist. The new locales are a joy to explore and provide a nice change in pace compared to the vanilla worlds. Gambit is an exciting new mode, but, like the Blind Well, is heavily dependent on what kind of teammates you have. Destiny 2 needed something to save it and Forsaken bought it a new lease on life.
