Elden Ring: The Shattering Was Even More Brutal Than You Think

At first glance, the Shattering seems to have been a wild melee of destruction, with each Elden Ring -seeking Demigod and their personal armies fighting a war of all against all. However, by examining the terrain, relics, monuments, and survivors of Elden Ring 's world, it's possible to assemble a general picture of what the war was actually like. One can see the composition of each faction's armies, the movements of troops, the tactical goals of certain offenses, and the long-term strategic goals of each Demigod leader – not to mention the cost of the confl

The most common suggestion for the fight, though, was the rock sling maneuver. Whereas many who recommended its use also combined it with another weapon, Hctaz emphasizes it on its own: "Rock Sling is a fairly easy to snag spell that does physical damage and will really help you deal with this fig

Of course, the wolves aren't known for being Tank summons, and Some-Scheme838 points this out as their weakness, recommending that players should go with "a tankier summon" than wolves, as using wolves was the main focus of the original poster's strategy. An example would be Mimic T

" Lord? Don’t make me laugh. First he hid himself amongst the womenfolk to flee the capital, then hid from Radahn in that castle… Then he insulted Malenia, lost to her in battle, only to lick her boots rather than die like a man. Has he no shame, the big girl’s blou

This monument of battle suggests a shadow war broken out soon after the Great Runes of the Elden Ring Tarnished Edition Ring were claimed. The newly empowered demigods (with the possible exception of Morgott) each wished to become the new Elden Lord and shape the future of the Lands Between. With Queen Marika, the divine being in charge of choosing the next Elden Lord, nowhere to be found, each of these demigods likely wished to assert their right to rule with magic and martial prowess. The initial skirmishes and schemes must have proven fruitless, for all the demigods besides Morgott left Leyndell and returned to the lands they ruled. But they would soon return with armies in their w

In The Fellowship Of The Ring , the first installment of The Lord Of The Rings , Saruman the White, recently defected to Sauron's side, tries to corrupt Gandalf by preaching about how Sauron's Ring can grant them the " power to order all things as we will, for that good which only the Wise can see [...] all the things that we have so far striven in vain to accomplish, hindered rather than helped by our weak or idle friends. " __ In this quote, Saruman unwittingly describes the once-noble intentions of the once-noble Sauron (to make the lands of Middle-earth a better , more orderly place), and illustrates through mimicry how Sauron firmly believed he was the only one smart enough to solve the problems of the world. This prideful conceit - along with the intoxicating lure of power - corrupts Sauron and Saruman, dooms major characters such as Isildur, Boromir, and Denethor, and threatens to consume even noble characters like Frodo, Gandalf, and Galadriel when they come into contact with the One Ring. In The Lord Of The Rings , the greatest act of heroism is not to take up power, but to give it up when it is right to do

As the user explains in a follow-up comment, players also need to restore FP after summoning Oleg, so summoning him when she's so weakened means it's easy to transition into the next stage with full FP and Oleg at full health, the most ideal circumstances when employing the FP-costly spirit summon as backup. Players just need to ensure the restraint of not ending Phase 1 prematur

Morgott's Great Rune : This Great Rune simply increases your maximum HP by 25%, which can be quite significant for RL1 playthroughs. It's like Radahn's Great Rune, but doesn't affect FP or Stamina and enhances HP to greater effect. Consider using this Great Rune over the others if you don't need stats from Godrick's Great Rune or the FP/Stamina boosts from Radah

Dark Souls , FromSoftware's best-known game series, is out of the question for the next release. This should come as no surprise either because Hidetaka Miyazaki already stated in 2017 that Dark Souls 3 wrapped up the trilogy, and, at least for the near future, the series was over. Also, observing what the studio has done in the past, it hasn't typically picked back up on series that've reached the climax; usually there is a period of waiting before a continuation is confirmed. However, this doesn't necessarily mean there won't ever be another Dark Souls game, as there's still a lot of potential for story development. Even so, it's unlikely it would be the next release, or even that it would be coming anytime soon. FromSoftware could use this waiting period to continue remastering older Dark Souls games, just as in 2018, or the studio could continue working on new content while focusing on bringing new life to older proje

Many were the heroic deeds performed by Elden Ring 's demigod characters during the brutal Shattering war; alas, few if any of these deeds were performed by Godrick the Golden, born the weakling runt among his demigod peers and prone to engage in reckless acts to prove his worth. Kenneth Haight, a pompous but good-hearted aristocrat NPC players can find near the Mistwood, has this to say about the self-proclaimed Lord of Limgr
