DecemberBattlefield 6 Has Even More Competition in Call of Duty Now
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone are shaping up to be the biggest competition to Battlefield 6 , even with CoD 2020 and more on the horizon, and there is a lot of ground to cover for the next Battlefield to compete with what is arguably the most popular Call of Duty game ever in years. Call of Duty games have long been the industry standard for first person shooters, as any FPS title will inevitably be compared to the CoD game de jour, and big-budget shooters have to set themselves apart to make an impact. There are a few reasons that competing with Modern Warfare will be extra difficult for Battlefield
That being said, this is just an interpretation of the next-gen prototypes shown in EA Play Live earlier this year. EA and DICE have confirmed that a new Battlefield game (presumably Battlefield 6 ) is headed for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, and currently has a 2021 release window planned. Occasionally rumors have come out about the next Battlefield game, some of which have been proven false , others have no evidence or backing. Overall, it'll be interesting to see what's truly in store for the once revered shooter franch
Modern Warfare and Warzone will certainly still be alive and kicking by the time that Battlefield 6 comes out. The developer has stated its commitment to keeping the current reboot around as the primary multiplayer Call of Duty experience for a long time yet, and the dev has made good on that commitment so far by continuing to release new content at a pace that even other triple-A developers struggle to keep up w
Class customization in Call of Duty was relatively simplistic when it was first introduced in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare . Where Battlefield used classes as a form of strategic team composition, Call of Dut y 's Create-A-Class system focused more on player preference than anything else. Battlefield would eventually implement some broader aspects of weapon/equipment customization as a result, but never compromised on its commitment to team strategy. Then, Gunsmith in Modern Warfare brought weapon customization to a new le
Scale will have to increase massively as well. Pushing the technological boundaries of player counts and game size, yet still maintaining a fast-paced gameplay loop is one of the specialties of the Battlefield series. This time though, Battlefield 6 will be contending with the popularity of several battle royale games, all of which have impressive scale . At their best, Battlefield games make each player feel like just one small part in a massive conflict, barely able to shift the tide of battle on their own. Battlefield 6 will have to go above and beyond to convey that feeling bigger, better, and more beautifully than every other shooter out there. It can be done, and based on its potential, Battlefield 6 is currently the game most likely to do
With the launch of the next-generation consoles, it looks like EA and DICE are hoping to resuscitate the Battlefield series. In the company’s latest earnings call, EA CEO Andrew Wilson gave a few details on some of the company’s plans for 2021 and beyond. According to Wilson, the next Battlefield game is already in the works at DICE and features "never-before-seen scale." Wilson added that the next-generation consoles are giving the studio the opportunity to actualize their "next-gen vision" for the ser
As mentioned above, Battlefield excels in realism, environmental destruction, sound design, and atmosphere. These are the few key features that Battlefield games have always prioritized, and those details have cemented the series as one that pushes the FPS genre forward time after time. Modern Warfare offers a fine-tuned, engaging, and addictive gameplay loop, but Battlefield provides a sense of immersion that is very rare in multiplayer games, let alone fast-paced shoot
One way Battlefield may be able to make a comeback is to improve their co-op and campaign modes. Last year, battlefield 2042 Dlc|https://battlefield2042hq.com/ V 's co-op mode was a sad, rushed mode that felt underwhelming and not prepared for release. EA also needs to capture their player's attention with a campaign mode filled with action, but, most importantly, iconic characters. Call of Duty 's campaigns are always iconic, with characters like Soap Mactavish and Captain Price that gamers always remember. Call of Duty 's Special Ops mode is also a great example of a fun co-op m
Back in the day, the conversation for best first-person shooter often boiled down to two options: Call of Duty vs. Battlefield . It's the age old debate that's persisted since the seventh console generation. Unfortunately today, many would state that's no longer the debate. As the latest Call of Duty title sees plenty of success, the latest Battlefield game has ended its support with a dwindling playerbase. As Call of Duty prepares for another annual release despite some development trouble, Battlefield 6 eyes 2021 for the franchise's next en
The current game in the series, Battlefield 5 , was marred with issues from the day it was released. The game not only felt incomplete, with its miniscule map roster and plethora of bugs, but future updates were incredibly inconsistent and many promised features never saw the light of day, such as the 5v5 competitive mode . Even its attempt at a battle royale mode, called Firestorm in Battlefield 5 , wasn’t safe from its own set of issues. Battlefield 5’s life cycle was so turbulent that its final content patch was released last summer , more than a year before the next game in the series is expected to rele
