E3 2019 Predictions: What We Think Will Happen at the Show

E3 2019 Predictions: What We Think Will Happen at the Show

Naturally, that's an incredibly important next step for Xbox too considering the fact that this current console generation hasn't exactly been smooth sailing for Microsoft . Sure, it's easy to blame that on the Xbox One's unfortunate E3 reveal back in 2014, but the reality is that Microsoft could never deliver where it needed to most: huge exclusives. While PlayStation 4 has given fans some of the most groundbreaking experiences of this entire generation, Microsoft has struggled to give its customers any significant exclusives outside of the Gears of War or Halo series. Next-gen is shaping up to be a Adventure Game Money Guide-changer, but new IP alone either won't cut

With the E3 2019 festivities starting on June 8 with EA Play, we decided to put together our predictions for what we will see at the show. Some of these predictions seem to have a good chance of happening, while others are a bit more out there. Come E3, it will be interesting to see which predictions are proved true, and which ones didn't quite pan

This prediction seems a little less likely now that we know Anthem won't be part of the EA Play 2019 lineup , but the game is still going to be at E3 2019 in some capacity. With Anthem 's playerbase shrinking and the remaining community often upset with the game, it seems like making it free-to-play could give it a shot in the arm to keep it alive for at least a little while lon

Rumors have been swirling for quite some time that Microsoft has a brand new Perfect Dark game in development. According to the rumors, the new Perfect Dark will be third-person , and will be at least partially developed by Gears of War studio The Coalition. Whether or not there's any truth to these claims remains to be seen, but it would make sense for Microsoft to take advantage of Perfect Dark 's popularity and leg

When Microsoft purchased Rare in 2002, expectations were high for the studio to continue its award-winning work on Xbox. Unfortunately, Rare has largely failed to live up to fan expectations since the Microsoft acquisition, failing to truly capitalize on the popularity of its beloved IP like Banjo-Kazooie . There hasn't been a new Banjo-Kazooie game since 2008's Nuts & Bolts , so platforming fans are hungry for a proper new entry in the series, especially after the titular duo were added to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster as DLC fighte

E3 2019 is right around the corner, and it's during the show that gamers can expect to see some of the year's biggest announcements and reveals. E3 is full of surprises every year, and even with Sony skipping E3 2019 , this year's show has potential to make huge waves in the gaming indus

One of the biggest rumors this year may be the announcement of Fable 4 , which is thought to be a reboot of the franchise or a remake of the first game. Yet its release date is also rumored to be a long time away, as it is supposedly a next-gen Xbox exclusive. This would make sense, but we simply have to wait until E3 2019 to find

Seemingly inspired by the likes of Rocket League , Roller Champions is reportedly a derby-themed multiplayer sports game that Ubisoft will reveal at E3. Leaks seem to give this game a solid amount of credibility, but this is still best taken as a rumor. Ubisoft has yet to acknowledge its existence, which could easily be taken one way or another, so tuning into Ubisoft's E3 2019 press conference is likely the best way to see if this rumor is t

Following the successful remake of Resident Evil 2 , details leaked online that Capcom was intending to annualize the franchise. This led to the belief that the remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis's release date would be in January 2020 following an E3 2019 reveal, and considering that Capcom is rumored to be making a major announcement at the show, little could top another Resident Ev

In an effort to create more Xbox console-exclusives, Microsoft has been on a spending spree of acquiring studios. Last year's E3 saw Microsoft announce the acquisition of a number of studios, and we expect that trend to continue at E3 2019, especially with the news that Sony is also buying studios to bolster the PS5 first-party lineup. As for which studios Microsoft may announce it's acquired at E3 2019, that's less clear. The leaker that leaked the Microsoft E3 2019 press conference suggested that IO Interactive, Asobo, and Relic Entertainment are all potentially going to join Xbox Game Studios, but we'll have to wait for E3 to be s

Considering that Xbox currently can't boast many big-name exclusives that really sell what its next-generation venture is all about, it makes sense for the company to go all out on Fable 4 and show it before the launch of its newest console. That's not to say the game should be rushed to be a launch title for the Series X; nobody wants the game to not reach its potential purely for the sake of creating hype for the Serie

Microsoft still stole the show with its briefing, though. The Halo and Gears announcements were well received, among others, but none as much as the upcoming console now going by the name Project Scarlett.
