Progressive Lenses Frame Size: What I Learned

When I needed progressive lenses, I quickly learned that progressive lenses frame size is more critical than with regular glasses. The wrong size makes progressives unusable.

Why Size Matters More with Progressives

Progressive lenses have different zones - distance at top, intermediate in middle, reading at bottom. If you beloved this posting and you would like to get far more facts pertaining to web site kindly stop by our own site. If the frame is too small, these zones get compressed and don't work properly.

Minimum Size Requirements

My optician explained I need:

Lens height: 30mm minimum - Critical for progressive zones

Lens width: 52mm or larger - More room for the corridor

Avoid small or narrow frames - They don't have enough vertical space

My Progressive Frame Choice

I chose frames with:

Lens width: 54mm

Lens height: 35mm

Bridge: 18mm

Slightly larger overall size than my regular glasses

What I Avoid

For progressives, I stay away from:

Small, trendy frames

Very narrow rectangular shapes

Rimless styles (less stable)

The Result

With properly sized frames, my progressive lenses work perfectly. I can see clearly at all distances without the distortion that comes from frames that are too small.
