To determine if your laser device is delivering sufficient energy, start by checking the manufacturer’s specifications for the intended output power. If you are using a repetitive pulse system, verify the pulse frequency and single-pulse output. Some meters can measure both average power and single pulse energy. A drop in pulse energy could indicate degrading gain medium.
If after all these checks the energy output remains below expectations, contact technical support. Do not attempt to disassemble or modify power settings unless you are qualified by the manufacturer, as this can be life-threatening and may cause permanent damage.
Routine servicing and regular sensor validation of your measuring tools are critical. Over time, sensors can degrade over cycles, and laser performance can diminish. Establish a routine testing schedule to detect degradation proactively and guarantee repeatable output.
