PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds August Update Detailed; Includes First-Person Servers, Xbox One Controller Support, and More

Over on the Steam community forum for the title, developer Brendan Greene (aka "PlayerUnknown") outlined what players can expect from the next Monthly Update for real-time shared vision PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, which includes a hefty number of updates for the game. Specifically, these include a new car horn feature when driving vehicles, the addition of first-person only servers for the game in Solo and Duo game types for North America and Europe, support for the Xbox One controller, new weapons and character customization options, and much m

The next Monthly Update will also introduce the game's first new paid cosmetic items through a "crate and key system," which Greene took time in the community forum to address. Due to some of the negative reaction towards implementing the system, Greene expressed that the introduction and testing of the new paid cosmetics will "serve as the foundation of a healthy economy after launch," and will aim to "benefit all players - both who are willing to pay and who are not willing to pay for vanity items." However, Greene also addressed that "our messaging wasn't clear" in terms of implementing the new system, and added that the team will "try to communicate better moving forwa

Greene also provided some images of new items that can be found in the two new free-to-open crates coming with the Monthly Upd

Whether players decide to head in Solo or as part of a Duo or four-player Squad with friends, each game more-or-less starts off in the same fashion as players jettison out of a derelict warplane and parachute onto the abandoned Soviet island that serves as the game's titular battlegrounds, which spans a massive 5x5 miles in size. Ultimately though, players are left to decide where and when to land, whether they want to drop immediately for a chance at grabbing weapons and equipment right away, or a later drop that costs resources but could set up players with a bit of breathing room away from all the ch

Unless you're a player like me that's dumped dozen of hours into the game, PUBG 's lack of clear explanation as to the mechanics and gameplay secrets might have newcomers going through a few painful first few hours trying to get the hang of it all. And as much as the game's few maps offer tons of strategy and replayability, some players might find themselves bored at going back to the same map over and over, unlike multiplayer games with a greater map vari

What’s really strange is that this feature completely skipped over Redemption since there was the use of the twin revolvers in the very first game. Although nobody noticed it missing, since shooting things was so immensely fun in Redempti

After landing, players must then scavenge the environments and abandoned houses nearby to pull together weapons, ammo, and other equipment that will ensure their survival against the 99 other players and try to be the last one standing (resulting in winning the game's signature "chicken dinner" ). While the basic strategies and how the matches play out start off fairly similar, Battlegrounds proves to be anything but familiar as every match can play out radically different and unexpected at virtually every t
