Level three vests and backpacks regularly spawn in the Abbey, and the amount of assault rifles and ammo located with its religious halls means that any squad who gets there first usually has a good chance of keeping it properly defended. The Abbey is a great place to visit, but if players are looking to take part in what could possibly be PUBG's single biggest building shoot-out ever, they should look instead to the Cosmodr
In a May 2017 interview with PCGamesN , Brendan Greene, the man behind the "PlayerUnknown" handle, discussed his initial inspiration for the mod. "I’d seen what Survivor GameZ did with DayZ," Greene said. "[…] It was a great event but I couldn’t play in it because I wasn’t a streamer. I thought: ‘Well, I want to do this. I want to play this’. I had a DayZ mod server that I had scripted lots of stuff into and decided I wanted to make a mod. I just thought, ‘Right, let’s try and make a battle royale mod’, and the genre was born." In its initial form, PlayerUnknown’s Battle Royale pitted 25 players against one another in a shared starting area with a cornucopia of gear lying before them. Once the countdown reached zero, the race for life and loot was on! Fun fact: one of the most iconic mechanics of the mod and its successors, the constantly shrinking circle, arose due to Greene’s skill-level as a programmer. "The ever decreasing circle – I couldn’t program squares like it is in the Battle Royale movie," Greene told Rock, Paper, Shotgun in a July 2017 interview . "The code for doing squares that shrink, I just couldn’t do it because I wasn’t a very good coder, right? So I [changed] it to an ever-decreasing circle that sort of moved around inside itself, because that’s how I could do it."
There isn’t one particular weapon that rules the game, and a lot depends on the player’s playstyle. However, it becomes very apparent, very fast, that there are high tier and low tier weapons in PUBG Missions , and even though every weapon is competent in wiping out enemies, some produce better results than others. Here is a list of the best weapons in the game as well as duds that should be avoi
It's not as big an issue that PUBG is currently lacking optimization, since it is in Early Access, but it's definitely something Bluehole Studios needs to tackle before releasing the finished game. Right now, even powerful gaming computers can struggle to offer consistently smooth gameplay. Frame rates dip frequently, and lowering settings in the graphics menu doesn't necessarily improve the frame rates by m
The loot at Cosmodrome is equally impressive, not just with weapons and ammo but with high quality accessories as well. Players will want to be on the lookout for teams hiding in or emerging from the underground tunnels, and keep an ear out for player footsteps coming from either above or below is key to surviving shootouts in this Cold War-era missile b
Both Fortnite and PUBG have millions of players. However, PUBG charges players $30 just to buy the game, and still offers microtransactions like loot boxes. For gamers who want to enjoy a battle royale game but don’t have deep pockets, PUBG is not even worth considering; Fortnite is the obvious ans
Ever since it parachuted onto the scene, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been proving itself to be a force to be reckoned with in the gaming landscape. It’s a meteoric rise not seen since Minecraft made its early access debut back in 2009. With thousands of streamers broadcasting their skills and new players jumping in every day, its popularity is well on its way to rivaling that of the sandbox juggernaut. Where did this kind of game even come from though? New styles of gameplay don’t just spawn from the ether; they all have their origins. In the case of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and the battle royale arena, it all started with a minor PC shooter called ARMA 2.
However, before too long alarm bells were ringing. The PlayStation Classic's full game list had plenty of would-be buyers rethinking their purchase, with some big name games missing from the roster. Meanwhile, the fact that the PlayStation Classic was using an open source emulator suggested what many feared: Sony wasn't putting its all into the retro
Some of the publisher's releases towards the end of the year didn't quite live up to scratch, either. The Quiet Man was one of the surprises of E3, but the final game was abysmal , while Just Cause 4 proved to be more of the same. At least Octopath Traveler lived up to the h
There isn’t much to say about AWM except it has by far the highest damage in the game. A single headshot from AWM is capable enough to knock out a player with level 3 Helmet. The gun is incredible in every possible way and is air-drop exclusive, rightfully so. AWM deals maximum damage up to the range of 150 meters after which, its damage starts to fall till the range of 679 met
The disintegration of the relationship between Hideo Kojima and Konami was a difficult one to watch for gaming fans. It resulted in a lot of fallout, including the hugely anticipated horror title Silent Hills , while it also seemed to put a dampener on the future of the Metal Gear franchise as a whole. After all, the series was so intrinsically tied to Kojima that it seemed unlikely it could ever truly return without
